ITW Travel Tips*
• Arrival date to PI will be one day later than departure date. Tuesday arrival requires departure from the the U.S on Monday due to time difference.
• Passports are required to travel outside of your country of origin. Passport applications can take up to 6 weeks to process. Passport Application: U.S. Passport | Canadian Passport
• Flights vary. Depending on flight selection, there may be a night layover in the Manila airport coming to Bahol (late in to Manila; early out to Bahol) but not on the returning flight (early out of Bahol and connecting flight same day out of Manila). There are hotels within walking distance of the airport. See: https://www.manila-airport.
• Exchange at least $20 in PHP (Peso) currency through your bank in the U.S or at the airport.
• Students are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item – no checked luggage.
• Pack twin sheets (fitted and top sheet), a pillow, one towel, uniform (see below), and any other personal items you may need.
*Students are required to make their own travel arrangements and book their own flights. All airfare tickets are purchased at the student’s own risk. Hope Corps is not responsible for any fees incurred as a result of flight cancellation or the student’s inability to attend ITW due to incomplete coursework.
ITW Uniform Guidelines
General Guidelines
The idea of a uniform is to be uniform. In past ITWs some students have tried to be very “creative” in establishing their own identity or style. However, this has sacrificed the uniformity that we are trying to achieve. This is not a special meeting… this is Intensive Training Week!
Please be respectful of our request that you wear the uniform without special touches added to it. Thank you in advance for complying with the uniform requirements of Hope Corps.
NOTE: No jewelry of any kind is to be worn during the ITW, including wedding rings. Sleeves are to be worn below the elbow.
